FEMALES The Bitch Temperament is inherited, so try to see the sire and dam or other close related dogs to the dog you plan to purchase. It will tell you something about your dog’s disposition and character. A person with a practiced eye, or one who has a sound knowledge of the breed, can tell at a glance whether the dog is worth considering or not, for show and future breeding. Disposition is a must for pet, breeder, show. As a breeder I feel it is my job to help pick the right puppy. Breed responsibility is foremost in the minds and hearts of those who have a true love for the Mastiff. We humans are entrusted with the safe keeping of one of God’s creatures. We influence the breed dramatically, and that influence must be positive, not negative. A good bitch in the breeding of any breed is of the utmost importance. Features of such major importance, such as temperament, character, and head, sets the type, neck length, body length, shoulders and rear angulations. It takes a good eye and that is the job of a good breeder to help. Knowing the background of the dog is the safest and surest road to success.
